Last night Popsugar Shopping threw a party at London's Somerset House to celebrate the first night of Vodafone London Fashion Weekend. Key fashion bloggers, retailers and VIP's enjoyed an evening of fine food, champagne and most importantly incredible shopping! VV Brown played DJ, while guests shopped exclusive fashion offers from designers such as Issa London, Paper London and Dominic Jones. Other highlights included the gorgeous Made in Chelsea star and My Flash Trash owner Amber Atherton, who presented a fab talk on fashion styling. Check out the event from our gallery below!

What To Wear to London Fashion Weekend
On the final day, loosen the sartorial reigns a bit and slip into something a bit more comfortable—and that includes footwear too (even fashion feet get a break on Sundays). An oversized knit in a sumptuous hue can make quite the dressed down bohemian statement when cinched over a flowing maxi dress with a large belt or worn retro-cool withskinny highlighter jeans. A printed wide-leg trouser is on-trend for the season ahead and can be toned down with a solid blazer, brogue flats or even trendy trainers.
If you opt for pretty ballerinas with a tapered trouser or dress, just be sure the toe is pointed not rounded. Finish off your easy Sunday look with an of-the-moment envelope clutch in a fun colour or accented with studs. Remember, street style all comes down to the details, so long as your clutch pops against the print of your top or the tone of your shoes contrasts fabulously with the concrete, you won’t slip passed any lens unnoticed.

What to Wear to London Fashion Weekend: Saturday
Saturday: Been saving those leopard trousers for an unbeknownst occasion? Never been quite sure when to break out those crazily sculpted pumps? There’s no time like a full day of fashion shows to make your strongest sartorial statement, a la Anna Dello Russo. Pick a strong “where-the-heck-would-I-wear-that” piece from your wardrobe and create a story around it. Whether it’s a sky-high shoe, ambitious hat or traffic-stopping coat, play with contrasting colours and planar silhouettes to maximise visual impact (a skinny shape on bottom, such as a pencil skirt, should be offset with a voluminous top). Above all else, always remember: ten bracelets simply are never enough.
While the chilly temperatures present an obvious obstacle to statement dressing, fashion week pros know that in February, colour is king. Colour-block a neon bright coat with a great pair of trousers or conversely tone down a show-stopping frock with a dark, tailored overcoat. Be sure to layer with tone as well as texture. When it comes to footwear, stick with wedges (ok) or chunky heels (even better!) to navigate the treachery of the Somerset House cobblestones without fear of becoming Fashion Weekend Roadkill.
How to get Next Season's Looks Now

Fashion is faster than ever these days and nowhere is this more evident than at London Fashion Week. From watching what the show-goerswear (this season it was Prada fur and New Balance trainers), to analysing future trends on the catwalk, the speed of information relentless. And withtechnology speeding up too, it’s now possible to order next season’s looks straight from runway – if you’re a Burberry, House of Holland or Topshop customer. But don’t worry if you’re not; it’s still easy to get next season’s looks six months in advance. Here’s how:
Playful luxe accessories
Designers like Louise Gray and accessory newbie SophiaWebster are ramping up the fun factor in fashion with their infectious energy. Sophia Webster showed her speech bubble clutch bags and witty doodle shoes (complete with ‘pencil’) to delighted press, while Louise Gray’s creations mix kitsch references with art school cool. Get the look with playful, girlish accessories, or even a cartoonish hat. I love Miche Dulce’s handmade hats, ethically made from Filipino banana fibres.
Boy-girl styling
AW13 is about mixing equal ratios of masculine and feminine influences. Example: Ostwald Helgason, one of my favourite design duos, whoshowed boy-cut blazers, shirts and tailored shorts with illustrated sweatshirts and glamorous heels.
Kinky primness
Another hybrid trend, you couldn’t move for latex at Burberry and Felder Felder, or PVC at Roksanda Ilincic, Simone Rocha and Antipodium. What they had in common though was teaming them with unexpectedly modest elements. Think sensible-length skirts, buttoned-up-to-the-neck shirts and chunky shoes.
Flat packed clutch
The flat envelope clutch bag is the smart girl’s way of downsizing the junk to the bare essentials. Brave, right? To give us an incentive, we were shown elegant candy pink versions at Whistles, and colour-block, eco-leather ones at Veja.

Dressing for fashion week is no easy task, and it’s one that keeps even the most seasoned of bloggers and editors lying awake in the weeks leading up to each season. Luckily, London Fashion Weekend only spans a few days, so there’s no need to rush to the shops to pony up for a sidewalk to show-worthy wardrobe, just follow these few basic guidelines and you’ll be mixing and matching your current wardrobe to street style fame in no time. Remember, when it comes to earning runway-side kudos, it’s not what you wear, but how you style it.
Friday: For the first full day of shows, which also happens to be a Friday, dress to impress, with an eye on hitting the town after the last designer takes their bow. Why not ease into the mood with a fashionista’s requisite dollop of black, channelling your best Kate Lanphear? There’s an andro-chic vibe in the air these days, so working a laid-back look of skinny-waxed black jeans or leather trouser, a slouchy tee (preferably of the sci-fi graphic variety) and sharp blazer channels a kind of Parisian-meets-New York chic. Now would also be the time to slip into that little metallic number—a great shoe or top.
For those less sombre in their styling, take your tailoring cue from the sidewalks of NYFW and LFW just gone and seek out flowing acid bright tailoring. A sleek yellow suit packs a pretty punchwhen whimsied up with cheeky printed shirts or fabulous accessories.
When it comes to finishing the look, heavily line and smoke your eyes and add personal accents in the form of accessories—a wristfull of arm candy and punkish pendants or ten-gallon hat. If your jeans are skinny, keep your shoes stilettoed to offset the casual and keep your look going strong through the after-party. Just remember to stuff your flats in your bag for later!
